Lysosomes contain various digestive enzymes which are needed by the cell to breakdown biomolecules such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins and cellular wastes and debris. If they are not digested or removed from the body they will get deposited in the cell and may affect the functioning of cell. Thus, it will interfere with the cell metabolism and other life processes and ultimately cause death of cell.
