when did non cooperative and civil disobedience movements started in India
Gandhiji started Non - Cooperation Movement in 1920 A.D. against the British rule. The Hindus and Muslims jointly opposed the government. It was called off because of violence occurred at a place Chauri Chaura in Uttar Pradesh. He also started the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930. He along with his followers marched to Dandi, Gujarat, where he broke the salt law by making salt on the sea coast in March 1030 A.D. The first phase of this movement ended in 1930 A.D.
