Earthworm are called friends of farmer because  :

  • Earthworm moves through the soil that loosens and aerates the soil. This also helps the water to reach the roots quickly.
  • Earthworm 's excreta increases the fertility of the soil. 
  • After their death, they get decomposed and add humus to the soil.

earthworms are called farmers friends because they improve the texture of soil by burrowing into the soil and makes the soil loose and thus allows the air to enter into the soil and water  to drain from it,they also form channels in the soil  for roots to spread through.
