why do our working hands appear to be more cold than the resting hand in winters?

When we are working we are releasing some energy stored inside the cells. More than half of the energy is released in form of heat. As heat gets released the part of the body becomes colder. This happens with the working hands. Apart from that, sometimes due to lack of blood circulation our hands become colder than other body parts in winter.
