Why human egg contains small amount of yolk?

Human egg is alecithal with almost no amount of yolk. Human eggs do not need yolk as they do not  have to depend on yolk for development. The embryo is nourished with nutrients from the mother's blood through placenta.

Because human uterus is developed such that it can connect itself to the maternal body through umbilical cord and gain nutrients by it hence yolk is small.
