Write the differences among the Revenue settlements system of British in India.

There was nothing called ijidari system. I am giving the difference between permanent settlements, ryotwari and mahalwari systems,

Permanent settlements: A zamindar was declared the proprietor of the land and all peasants on that land was the tenant of the zamindar. The zamindar was required to collect revenue from the peasants and pay a fixed amount to the government. Any excess revenue collected belonged to the zamindar. This system was introduced in Bengal in 1793 and spread throughout North India. It was a very exploitative system as the zamindar tried to extract the maximum possible revenue from peasants.

Ryotwari system: The Ryotwari system was followed in Madras and Bombay presidencies. In it, the peasant, or the ryot, was recognized as the proprietor of the land and was required to pay revenue directly to the government.

Mahalwari system: This was followed in the Punjab. Under this system, the revenue was settled with the entire village as a collective unit. The peasants paid the revenue share of whole village in proportion according to their individual holdings.
