 Write the three major uses of rayon with reason.

Your friend has answered correctly although I would like to add few points in the answer- Rayon is cheaper in comparison to cotton hence its use in textile industry is increasing day by day.

Rayon thread has shine and lusture that's why it is used in preparing carpets.

  • The rayon is a semi-synthetic polymer which is made from the chemical modification of cellulose obtained from the pulps of tree. This modification provides strength to the rayon. So sometimes, it is used in the conveyor belt. R. emember it does not provide higher strength to the belt
  • Rayon is man-made, which is not considered a synthetic fiber, but a manufactured regenerated cellulosic fiber. Made from cellulose, rayon is a very versatile fiber and exhibits the same comfort properties as other natural fibers. It can imitate the feel and texture of silk, wool cotton and linen . The fibers are easily dyed in a wide range of colors.

  • Some major rayon fiber uses include apparel (e.g. Aloha shirts, blouses, dresses, jackets, lingerie, linings, scarves, suits, neckties, hats and socks), the filling in Zippo lighter , furnishings (e.g. bedspread, bed sheet, blankets, window treatment, upholstery, slipcovers), industrial uses (e.g. medical surgery products, non-woven products, tire cord), and other uses (e.g. yarn, feminine hygiene products, diapers, towels).
