They are outrageous, they are ridiculous but they are used very often because they have been passed down like a legacy from generation to generation. No matter how old you are, and whether you’ve grown up in India or abroad, here are a few things only Indian child can understand .So Enjoy! Happy Children’s Day

1. “Itna TV aur Mobile dekhega to chashma lag jayega”

The truth is, too much television can cause fatigue of the eye muscles. It doesn’t lead to myopia at first. But too much television or constant staring at your mobile screens do influence the eyes towards developing minds though. So what began as a myth can turn into a truth eventually.

2. “Thoda Aur Khao. You Are So Thin!”

Indian parents like their children “healthy”. Indian grandparents even more so. Childhood for each one of us are FULL of occasions when we couldn’t leave the table until being force-fed enough to explode. Which brings us to…Tiffin. Not a snack, not a sandwich-and-salad, but a proper home-cooked meal. Did you come back from school with your aloo parantha and gobi ki sabzi unfinished? Bad, BAD girl!

3. “Paise ped pe nahi ugte”

Ah! This one is a classic. We are sure everyone has heard this. Usually it is iterated when an unreasonable demand is made. Kith and kin of this statement is, “That shopkeeper is not my uncle to give it to me for free. Paisa kya ped pe ugta hai? You grow up and start earning, and then you will realise the worth of money, and how each penny is hard earned. Then you are free to spend how you want it.”. But believe us there really is value in that statement, although it leads to rebellion every time.

4. “Ye kaise gaane hain, humare time ke gaano ki baat hi kuch aur thi”

Turning on the radio, or tuning into your favorite music channel to watch songs you liked. An elders voice would come floating from the next room saying, “These songs have only dhamadham, no music or lyrics at all!” Then an order would follow, “Turn the volume down!” Once the order had been followed, the voice would automatically mellow down and get a nostalgic tone, “We had such great singers, Kishore, Mukesh, M. Rafi, Lata didi, such talented music directors like R.D. Burman. Those songs had meaningful lyrics, and melodious tunes. What rot is this!

5. “Bas paani Pina ata hai, Kabhi Bottle bhi bhar diya kar”

Garbage-bin-paani

We all have heard this 😛 Do you remember sweltering heat you come home running from sports class straight to the fridge for some water or to the AC  room for some cool air. And keeping the Fridge or the AC room door open suddenly triggers a loud voice, “shut the door” , “fill up the bottle of water” , “don’t drink it directly from the bottle”.

And we all know that doing this does have chances of us falling ill . But then what’s it about  sipping directly from the bottle, running straight into the AC room that make it quick ,easy & joyful? Its the Joy of childhood , the joy being having loads of energy because

Children have to be educated but also have to left free to educate themselves.
