Here is a brief insight about various events that are organized during Techniche, the annual festival targeted at school students:

Technothlon:

Technothlon, the annual international school championship conducted by the students of IIT Guwahati as a part of Techniche. This exam tests the logical and analytical abilities of a student. This unique feature makes this exam fall into an altogether different league. Essentially a student has to think out-of-the-box to attempt this exam. Attempted by over 1.5 lakh students across the nation, this stands as a testimony to the real intelligence of kids in India.

Eligibility

-Junior Squad- School going kids of classes 9 and 10,
Haut Squad – College going/ College – Ready students of classes 11 and 12 ( Any Stream)

Model United Nations (IITG MUN):

Model UN conferences are a simulated panel discussion, set up on the lines of UN conferences and committees. Students take on the roles of diplomats from different countries, representing their nation in discussions and debate on a particular agenda/ topic in the conference. The entire debate is carried out through formal rules of procedure that require students to truly step into the shoes of UN delegates. Students participating as delegates must research on their allotted countries in great detail, understanding their own foreign policy to fare well in the competition.

Participating in a Model UN conference can help students and young people develop leadership skills as well as research, writing, public speaking and problem solving skills.

Eligibility- Students of classes 11 & 12

Guwahati Half Marathon:

Considered to be the largest marathon to be organized in the north eastern part of India. The Guwahati Half marathon is not just a mere run, it reflects the dire need to help build a new and healthy way of life among today’s youth.
