National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) – the most prestigious and the toughest national level scholarship exam in India, will be held on the 17th and 18th of November 2012* ( Stage 1). The exam is conducted every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and over 1, 50,000 aspirants are expected to take part this year. According to a recent decision, NTSE will now be held only for class X students and there will be no personal interview; earlier the exam was conducted for class VIII students.
*Students hailing from Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will sit for the exam on the 17th of November, 2012 while the students hailing from all the other states and boards will sit for the Stage 1 exam on the 18th of November, 2012, as per the latest press release from NCERT.
The stage 2 of the exam will be held on the 12th of May, 2013.
