Read the following conversation. Then rewrite it using reported speech.
Ms Ranade : Baden - Powell was born around the middle of the nineteenth century.
Kunjal : Wasn't it in 1857?
Ms Ranade: Yes you are right. Anyway he went on to lead an exemplary life, both as soldier and an inspiring model for young people.
Kunjal : Wasn't he the founder of the Scout Movement?
Ms Ranade : Kunjal! please listen carefully to the lesson next time. I told you all about him yesterday. But, since you ask, yes, indeed. Soon after his fortieths birthday, he wrote and published a book on the art of scouting, meant mainly for young army recruits.
Kunjal: Then how did it spread outside the army?
Ms Ranade: It seemed to strike a chord with young boys and the Scout Movement was born. In fact, it spread throughout the world.
Kunjal: How can I find out more about him and his work?
Ms Ranade:Go to the library. Use an encyclopaedias, refer to the book
Scouting for Boys
by Baden Powell, or search on the Internet. You will certainly find out all you need to know. Oh, and don't be late for class again tomorrow!
