1.Define compression and rarefraction?
A compression is a region in a longitudinal wave where the particles are closest together whereas rarefaction is a region in a longitudinal wave where the particles are furthest apart.
When sound wave propagates through medium then particles of medium gets closer to each other and this is called compression and when particle get relaxed then particles in medium goes farther apart called rarefaction.
