1. in triangle ABC,D and E are midpoints on sides AB and AC respectively such that BD=CE.  If angB=angC, show that DE//BC.

2.the areas of two similar triangles are 81sq.cm and 49sq.cm respectively.if the altitude of the first triangle is 6.3cm.find the corresponding side of the second triangle.

pls answer

SOLUTION 2)

Given: Area of two similar triangles be 81 cm2 and 49 cm2.

Altitude of first triangle =  6.3 cm

Let the altitude of second triangle = x cm.

As we know that,

when two triangles are similar the ratio of their area is equal to the ratio of square of their corresponding altitude.

Hence, the length of altitude of triangle 2 = x cm = 4.9 cm.
