(1) 1 cm2 = (10 mm)2 = 100 mm2 (2) Le the length and breadth of the rectangle be l and b Then area of rectangle = lb Now length is doubled and breadth is halfed â‡’ New length and breadth of rectangle are 2l and $\frac{b}{2}$ $Thus area of new rectangle = 2 l \times \frac{b}{2} = l b Hence Required ratio = l b : l b = \frac{l b}{l b} : \frac{l b}{l b} = 1 : 1$
