1. The government of India has banned goods made of ivory. Why? (Hint; From where is ivory obtained?)
2. Though we can protect animals in zoos, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks are considered best for conserving certain animal species. Why? (Hint: Where do you think animals will be healthier?)

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

1. Ivory is a tusk of animals like elephant made up of dentine with an outer layer of enamel. That is why it has been banned by Government of India to  make goods from it.

2. Zoo is a simulated environment of an organism. The organism are kept away from their natural habitats and they are not freely living or hunting etc. Whereas national parks and wildlife sanctuaries provide natural surroundings and animals own native habitat. In addition they offer protection from hunting, poaching etc. Hence the latter are better for conservation. Also in addition to the animals the flora and the entire ecosystem of the place is also preserved in case of parks and sanctuaries.
