100ml of water was put through 50g of soil drop by drop using a dropper where soil was put on a filter paper over a funnel . a bottle is kept below the funnel to collect water.only 40ml of water is collected . calculate the amount of water absorbed by the soil

Amount of water collected in bottle = 40 mL

Amount of water absorbed by the soil = Amount of water added - Amount of water collected in bottle
Amount of water absorbed by the soil = 100 - 40
So, amount of water absorbed by the soil = 60 mL
