150 words on regionalism

Dear Student,

Regionalism means a strong affection towards one’s own region. For example, in India most people identify themselves as Bihari, Gujarati, Bengali etc. This is mainly because India is a huge country with diverse geography. People feel more comfortable to associate themselves with their region rather them with their country. This is also because of some other reasons like language, culture, food etc. which vary from region to region. However, people should be more conscious that they belong to one country and so they should first consider them as Indians and later as Rajasthanis or Haryanavis.   No other country in the world has existed with such broad unity as India. This unity in diversity of India is always appreciated by many countries around the world. We should be proud of this and should not let regionalism become dominant.
