2 cells A and B each having e.m.f 1.5v and int. resistances of 1.5ohm and 0.5ohm respectively,are joined in parallel with a 1ohm resistor.calculate currents drawn from the cell and their terminal p.d.'s

Emf of both the cell is 1.5 volt
internal resistance
r1 = 1.5 ohm
r2 = 0.5 ohm

As these cells are connected in parallel
their combined resistance
r = r1r2r1+r2 = 0.375 ohm
net resistance of the circuit
R = 0.375 + 1 = 1.375 ohm

As voltage in the circuit is same as the one of the emf of the cell then current in the circuit
I = E/R = 1.5/1.375 = 1.09 A

Terminal voltage of the first cell

V1 = E - Ir1 = 1.5- 1.09×1.5 V1 = -0.13 voltterminal voltage of the second cellV2 = E-Ir2V2  = 0.95 volt
