2 to the power of 3 = 2 * 2 *2 and 2 to the power of 5 = 2 * 2 *2 *2 * 2. if 2 to the power of x + 3 to the power of y = 43, where x and y are natural numbers, then x + y = ?

We can do this by trial and error method. Do we have any other simpler way? (Asked by Raina's parent)

2(x+3)y can never be equal to 43 if x and y are natural numbers.It will obviously a value which is equal to some multiples of 2.
