50 chairs and 30 blackboards were purchased for a school. If each chair costs Rs. 165 and a blackboard costs Rs. 445, find the total amount of the bill

Cost of a chair = Rs 165
Cost of a blackboard = Rs 445
Cost of 50 chairs = 50 × 165 = Rs 8250
Cost of 30 blackboards = 30 × 445 = Rs 13350
∴ Total amount of the bill = cost of 50 chairs + cost of 30 blackboards 
                                           = Rs (8250 + 13350)
                                            = Rs 21,600
