When a body goes from bottom to top, its height becomes 2r.
Kinetic energy at the bottom is consumed in doing work against gravity = mg(2r)
And the remaining kinetic energy at top becomes 

KE (top) = KE (bottom) - 2mgr
Hence, 
KE (top) - KE (bottom) = 2mgr
