Hi Gayathri, let us draw the figure

Length of cylinder L = 2 m
Radius of cylinder r = 1 m
Two hemi-sphere combine to form a sphere of radius 1 m
So total surface area = curved S.A of cylinder + S.A of sphere 
= 2 pi r L + 4 pi r^2
= 2 pi 1 * 2 + 4 pi 1^2 = 8 pi m^2
Volume = volume of sphere + volum of cylinder
= 4/3 pi r^3 + pi r^2 L
= 4/3 pi (1)^3 + pi (1)^2 * 2 = 10/3 * pi m^3
