A castle has a pillar, which is a cylinder in shape with a cone of same base radius surmounted on it. The total height of the pillar is 60m and radius of the pillar is 5m. Find the height of the conical part, if the volume of the material used in making of pillar is 4400m3.

Answer:
    Given radius of cylinder = 5 m
So,
   Radius of cone  = 5 m                               (same base)
   Height of total  = 60 m
   Volume of piller = 4400 m3
Let,
   Height of cone = h m
So,
  Height of cylinder part of the pillar = 60 - h
We know,
 Volume of cylinder part of pillar + Volume of cone part of pillar = 4400 m3
 πr2h + 13πr2h = 4400
 πr260-h+h3  = 4400
πr2180 - 3h +h = 4400×3
180 - 2h13200π×5×5
180 - 2h 1320078.5714285714
180 - 2h = 168
     2h = 180 - 168
     2h = 12
     h   = 6 m                          (Ans)

cone

r=5m

h=?

cylinder

r=5m

H=60-h

total volume=4400cubic units

4400=1/3x22/7xr2H +22/7xr2h

4400=22/7xr2[1/3x60-h + h]

4400 = 22/7x5x5[60-h+3h/3]

200=1/7x25[60+2h/3]

8=1/7[60+2h/3]

56=60+2h/3

168=60+2h

2h=168-60

2h=108

h=54m

the height of the conical part is 54m

i hope this helpzzzz... you
