A Concave mirror forms an erect Image of an object placed at a distance of 10 cm from it if the image is twice as large as the object where it is formed find the focal length

Dear Student,

The mirror produces two times enlarged image.

So, magnification(m) = 2

WE KNOW, magnification of spherical mirrors = m = -v/u

Where v is the distance between image and mirror and u is the distance between object and mirror.

Here, u = -10 cm

=> 2 = -V/-10

=>v = 30

So , the distance between image and mirror = 20 cm

1/v + 1/u = 1/f(mirror formula)

1/20 + 1/-10 = 1/f

1/20 - 1/10 = 1/f

-1/10 = 1/f

f = -10 cm
