a cricket ball of mass 70g moving with a velocity of 0.5m/s is stopped by a player in 0.5s . what is the force applied by the player to stop the ball

@tanvi: Slight error.

mass of the ball= 70 g =  0.07 kg

u= 0.5 m s

v= 0

t= 0.5 sec

f=ma= m (v-u/t) = 0.07 (-0.5/0.5) = -0.07 N

mass of the ball= 70 g or 0.007 kg

u= 0.5 ms

v= 0

t= 0.5 sec

f=ma= m (v-u/t)

subsituting the values and after calculation we get force is equal to - 0.007 N
