a glass rod rubbed with silk is brought close to two uncharged metallic spheres A and Btouching each other. the rod induces charges on A and B . tell what happens when:

1) A and B are slightly separated

2) the glass rod is then taken away

3) A and B are separated far apart

( explain also)

Here laws of induction will follow...

(1) If they are slightly separated...

When a positively charged rod is brought close to two touching metallic spheres A and B, then negative charge will be induced on the nearer A sphere and positive charge will appear on the far side of sphere B.

.

(2) If the glass rod is taken away...

No charges will be present as the source induction is removed and charges will relocate to their original positions.

.

(3) If A and B are separated far apart...

In this case there will be no influence of one sphere on another and thus no charges will be present on either.
