A kite flying at a height of 60m above the ground. A string of length 40root3 m is attached to the kite and is temporarily tied to a point on the ground. Find the inclination of the string with the ground.

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query :

Let K be the position of the kite. Let KL = 60 mLet P be the point on the ground where the string is temporarily tied.Now, PK = 403 mLet KPL = θ = Inclination of the string with the groundNow, sin θ = KLPKsin θ = 60403sin θ = 32sin θ = sin 60°θ = 60°

Hope this would clear your doubt.

let angle of inclination of the string of kite with the ground be A.
Now, Sin A= (altitude of kite from the ground)/ (length of string)
= 60/(40 root3 )
=3/(2 root3)
= ( root 3× root3)/(2root3) [3= root 3× root3]
=(root3)/2
Now, Sin A=(root3)/2
it is only satisfied when A=60° so that sin 60= (root3)/2
hence, A= 60° or, angle of inclination kite's string with ground is 60°.
