A large number of slums exit in most of the cities of the world. Do you think that it is the responsibility of government agencies to make arrangements for housing migrants that the city based industries and other residents employ? Give reasons?

a. It is true that large number of slums exist in most of the cities , which reflects the dark side of the city life
b. Slums also depicts the endless toil that people have to encounter in urban areas
c. They certainly put pressure on public conveniences like water, sanitation etc.
d. Most of these slums become breeding ground for epidemics and other diseases because of lack of proper hygiene.
e. It is certainly important on part of the government authorities to provide for alternate housing facilities for the people living in the slums
f. This will help to maintain the cleanliness in the city .
g. This will also accommodate migrant population who come to urban areas from rural in search of better job opportunities
h. Government must provide for cheap housing schemes, must ensure basic hygiene in the areas
i. Apart from that onus also lies on the people to ensure general cleanliness.
