A short note on tipu sultan

Tipu Sultan (20 November 1750 – 4 May 1799), also known as the Tiger of Mysore ,was the son of Hyder Ali and ruler of Mysore.He was a well educated man fluent in Arabic, Persian, Kanarese and Urdu.Tipu introduced a number of administrative innovations during his rule, including his coinage, a new Mauludi lunisolar calendar, and a new land revenue system which initiated the growth of Mysore silk industry.Tipu reorganised his army along European lines, using new technology, including what is considered the first war rocket.He fought with British forces four times during 1767-99 and was killed defending his capital Srirangapatnam in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore war.
