A solution contains 60g of NaCl in 400g of water. Calculate the concentration

in term of mass by mass percentage of the solution.

Mass of NaCl, WA = 60g
Mass of water, WB = 400g

Mass percentage of NaCl = WAWA+WB××100 = 6060 + 400×100 = 13.04%

Mass percentage of water = WBWA+WB×100 = 40060 + 400×100 =86.95%
