a stone of mass 20 grams is thrown upwards with a velocity of 19.6m/s. the stone reaches the maximum height in two secons....what is d work done on d stone..!!!//cud i get d solution 4 dis question??

w.d = energy

=change in kinetic energy

=1/2 m*v2 –u2

=1/2*0.02*((0)2 –(19.6)) (when the body is at top most point v2 = 0)

=3.8416J

thereforework done on the stone is 3.8416 joule

sorry for the first answer

w.d = energy

=kinetic energy while we are throwing up

=1/2 m*v2

=1/2*0.02*(19.6)2

=0.38416J

thereforework done on the stone is 0.39(approx) joule

  • -3

v2 =u2 +2gh

(19.6)2 = 0 + 2 (-9.8) h

h = 19.6m

work done = mgh

=20 x  -9.8 x 19.6

=3841.6 Joule

It is given as 20gram anmol,we should convert it into the si unit(kg)
