According to recent classification system, mucor is classified under a separate kingdom which is known as the kingdom Fungi.This kingdom is according to the Five kingdom classification given by R.H. Whittaker.Since, mucor is a fungus so it is placed in a separate kingdom named Fungi and is neither in plant nor in animal kingdom.
