After the process of binary fission, the new individuals are called as Daughter Cells. Why not Son Cells?

it was a really nice question. it is so because we know that only daughters(Females) can produce a new young one not a son(male) so in asexual reproduction the mother cell divides into two daughter cells so when they grow up they also further divide into daughter cell. if they are named son cells then it would be like a male giving birth to a young one and that sounds something yuck!
