Agriculture in south and mesopotamia was sometimes subject to hazards ? Which factors are responsible for it?!

There were some regular dangers or hazards : Sometimes the channels of euphrates would have a lot of water and they would flood the harvests. In some cases the waterway would shift its direction inside and out. There were Man made dangers : People living close to the upstream region would redirect such an excess of water that towns in the downstream region wouldn't get any water. In some cases they would disregard to clear out the residue and that would cause a blockage.
