all tha jacks, queen and kings are removed from a deck of 52 playing cards. the remaining cards are well shuffled and then one card is drawn ramdomly. giving ace a value 1 similar value for other cards, find the probability that card has a value

1) 7 2) greater than 7 3) less than 7

Removing the required cards will leave 40 cards .
52 -  ( 3 x 4) = 40 cards  ( 4 each of jack , queen and king)

P( 7) = Number of event  /  sample space  =  4 / 40 = 1/10

P(>7) = 3x4 cards (card numbered 8 , 9 and 10 and 4 set of each ) = 12 cards
therefore probability = 12 /40 or 3 by 10

p(<7) = 4 x 6 cards i.e. 24 cards probability = Number of event  /  sample space  =  24 / 40 = 3 / 5

Hope this would have cleared your doubt.

removing the required cards will leave uswith 52 - (3x4) = 40 cards

value of 7 - it means cards with no 7 i.e 4 cards therefore probability = 7 divided by 40

greater than 7 = 3x4 cards i.e. 12 cards therefore probability = 12 divided by 40 or 3 by 10

less than 7 = 4 x 6 cards i.e. 24 cards probability = 24 by 40 or 3 by 5
