because the wings will cut the vertical component of earth's magnetic field. direction of the induced current will be west to east if the aeroplane is moving towards south and direction of the induced current will be east to west if the aeroplane is moving towards north.  according to the fleming's right hand rule.thumb in direction of motion. forefinger in direction of magnetic field of earth (inward to the plane of paper).then the middle finger will show the direction of induced current.
