1) The Bastille Prison was stormed on 14th of July 1789. It was attacked because they wanted its gunpowder and weapons. The commander of the prison was killed and the seven prisoners inside were all released. The fortress was completely demolished by people. The Bastille represented the despotic power of the king and was the focus of much resentment . 
2) The king was sentence to death by the court on the charge of treason.On 21 Jan 1793.He was excluded publicly at the place de la Concorde .
