Tetanus is the name of a disease caused when the bacterium Clostridium tetani enters the body. The bacteria release certain toxins in the body which cause painful muscle spasms and can even result in death.The anti- tetanus is actually a vaccine which contains inactivated toxins (released by the bacteria). The toxins in the vaccine are only meant to activate immune system and trigger the production of anti-toxins.
