Q.10. "Assam is a land of biological hotspot". Justify the statement.

Dear student.

A biological hot spot is a natural environment with a high biodiversity that contains a large number of endangered species found no where else on Earth.  Jungles of Assam best suits the habitats of One-horned rhinoceros,  Hog Deer, Pigmy Hog, Assam Roofed turtle, Hispid Hare etc.  Ornamental plants such as Bamboosua vulgaris is present and cultivated throughout Assam. Bambusa jaintiana and Melocanna arundiana are few plant species reported only in Assam. This way Assam can be considered as a land of biological hotspot.
