Apart from the ideal type Weber gave another methodological tool called "empathetic understanding "for social scientists. According to this method the social world consist of subjective human feelings , values, prejudices etc, and inorder to capture the meaning of these words the social scientists need to practice empathetic understanding method by putting themselves in the place of the person whose actions they are going to study.This investigation is to be done objectively even though it was concerned with subjective matters.Thus it required the sociologist to faithfully record the subjective meanings of social actors without allowing her own personal beliefs and opinion to influence this process in any way.In other words they need to describe the feelings and not judge them according to their personal beliefs.The sociologist need to neutrally record the subjective values without being affected by his or her own thinking about the matter. He called the kind of objectivity' value neutality' . Weber recognised this method to be very difficult as socialists are also the members of the society and they themselves had their own belief ,prejudices etc.
