Are nitrogen and oxygen exceptions of both ionization potential values and electron affinity?

Dear student,

Due to the half filled 2p - sub shell in N atom it has exceptionally high ionisation  energy than oxygen , while the electron gain enthalpy of N atom is +ve while O atom has -Ve electron gain enthalpy , this due to the fact that N atom has smaller size which cause electrons repulsion and also it ha half filled 2p - sub shell , so energy is to be given to add the extra electron in N.
