Are the following normal residents of India?Give reasons a)Indians working in UNESCO's office in New Delhi b)Indian High Commision posted in Sweden c)Foreign students undergoing military training in India d)German Student studying at JNU in Delhi

Dear student,

Normal resident is a person or institution who ordinarily resides in a country and his centre of economic interest lies in that country.

A & B are normal residents
while C & D are not, as foreign students are not considered residents of India.

Only A and B are considered as normal residents of India as they are Non-Resident Indians or NRI'S who work in foreign countries and earn income for the Indian economy.C and D are not considered as they are neither Indian nationals nor Non-Resident Indians but work in India and earn income for their country,i.e,A foreign country and Germany.

indians working in unesco office in new delhi are residents of india since they are international area and do not belong to any country... indian high commission even though located in sweden are considered as indian embassies.. therfore they are residents of india. foreign students visiting for studies are non residents of india.. similar to this is student studying at jnu in delhi..

hope this is useful,
best of luck
