Are unicellular organisms called acellular also

Dear student,

The organisms which are made up of only one cell are called as unicellular organisms.
Unicellular cells are either prokaryotes(simple cell structure) or eukaryotes (complex cell structure).
For example, Amoeba, Paramoecium etc.

Acellular are those which are cell free. Example slime moulds, viruses.

Thus Acellular and unicellular are different.
