As the narrator write an article with the heading "war had not broken the human spirit" in uprating the values of love, faith and trust that you have learnt from the two young boys of Verona.

The following points will help you frame your answer:

  • Boys like Nichola and Jacopo are a hope for the society as they are truly well behaved, honest and hard-working. Their loyalty towards their duties and responsibilities makes them worthwhile.
  • They are sober and decent as well as possess self-esteem. They are very patient and remain undeterred even in the face of difficulties.
  • Adverse situations keep them undaunted. Therefore, they are a hope for the future.
  • A person cannot be judged by the awkward appearance as a book cannot be judged by its cover.
  • Here in this story, the two boys looked shabby and untidy which made the driver disapprove them. However, the author's interest on them increased on finding them indulging in all sorts of odd jobs with a willingness.
  • Their sincerity, devotion and dedication towards the work to meet the medical expenses of their sister were appreciable. Though the boys indulged into a variety of jobs to earn money, they did not want to spend the money on themselves.
