Atria are thin walled than ventricles

Because they carry blood away from the heart to the rest of the body. since blood travels down our body the force required is less due to presence of gravitational force while the veins carry blood up to the body, against the gravitational pull, more force is required to be exerted and hence, the walls are more thick than those of arteries
