One should never consider oneself to be smarter than the opponent which is done by the intruder who thinks that Gerrard has no match for him. This is the reason that Gerrard was able to overcome the situation without getting worried about situation. 
The play also conveys that intelligence, the presence of mind, and cool-headedness can help a person to overcome the biggest of problems that we may encounter in life.
