The tree are stumbling forward
into the night. winds rush to meet them .
The moon is broken like a mirror ,
its pieces flash now in the crown
of the tallest oak .

(a) The poet predicted that the forest which was empty will be full of trees by morning.
(b) As the poet had guessed, the trees are moving out of their barriers into the forest.
(c) The moon is compared to a broken mirror because as the trees move out, the moon's shine is visible in parts on the head of the oak trees because of which the moon appears like a broken mirror.
