i)  A large-scale deforestation causes huge disturbances in the nutrient cycling in a forest ecosystem. Deforestation may be caused by both cutting and by burning of a forest tree. Soil present in the deforested area would be leached on raining and the becomes nutrient deficient. The food chain present there would get disturbed and ultimately the nutrients cycling gets disturbed.
ii)  Due to deforestation, the carbon could not get sequestered in the plants, remains in the atmosphere and participates in increasing global warming and become a part of greenhouse house gases.
