Q.15. State why aluminium is extracted from its oxide by electrolysis while copper, lead, iron by reducing agents and mercury and silver by thermal decomposition.
As AL has a very high affinity for oxygen and it can't be reduced easily by common reducing agent like coke zinc etc So the process of Electrolysis is chosen for extraction of AL
