Can anybody explain the Butterfly Effect?

Butterfly effect is one of the principles used in chaos theory.Traditonal science defines mostly predictable things like gravity,electricity,chemical reactions etc. Chaos theory is a branch that deals with nonlinear things that are almost impossible to predict or control, like turbulence, weather, the stock market, our brain states, and so on. The Butterfly Effect is a concept invented by the American meteorologist Edward N. Lorenz (1917-2008) .
The butterfly effect describes the phenomenon that a small event can have very large consequences. It states that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing can cause a typhoon halfway around the world.
We can simply say that small changes in the initial conditions lead to drastic changes in the results. Our lives are an ongoing demonstration of butterfly effect.
